The inevitable moment of collaboration between Simple Plan frontman Pierre Bouvier and Vanilla Ice has arrived. The two dudes known for telling people to shut up in lyrical form (no, really) will be part of Global's new Canada Sings series. They'll judge breakout talent along with Jann Arden on the show. Canada Sings isn't Canadian Idol v. 2.0. It features workplace glee clubs (CHARTattack does not, nor will it ever have one) trying to "out dance, out maneuvre and literally out sing the other teams for a chance to sing on a national stage," according to a press release.
The show will be hosted by former MuchMusic DJ and ex-CP24 dude Matte Babel, and two competing teams will be judged by a panel that will declare the winner at the end of each hour-long episode. Each glee club has picked a charity to make a donation to should they win.
